Project Problem
Heating and cooling using LEED* approved methods the new NC Aquarium complex currently under construction at the site of the former Jennette’s Pier in Nags Head, North Carolina
*LEED is an internationally recognized certification system that measures how well a building or community performs across all the metrics that matter most: energy savings, water efficiency, CO2 emissions reduction, improved indoor environmental quality, and stewardship of resources and sensitivity to their impacts
Solution
Installed a 250-foot Geothermal test well and tested the well to determine the expected BTU output and the number of wells needed to heat and cool the new Aquarium structure.
